Projects

Participation

Giving children and young people a voice to effect a change within the service they use and providing organisations with support to ensure that children and young people are included in service design, delivery and evaluation.

Formerly the Children's Fund Participation Team, the Equal Voices Team work with a wide range of children and young people in Plymouth, as well as a number of organisations and schools, to deliver services that enable children and young people to have a clear voice and representation in issues that affect them.

Programmes we worked on

Young Mystery Evaluators

A group have been working undercover to investigate and test services and facilities on offer to children and young people in the city. Examples of investigations are, Central Library, JUMP, and Parks across Plymouth. The children and young people involved have had fun whilst also making a positive difference to services on offer for Plymouth children and young people.

CAMHS PROJECT

A new groundbreaking project funded by community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. This project was led by children and young people putting their voice at the centre of new training for teachers, nurses, doctors, child and youth workers and all adults working with children and young people.

The project challenged the stigma around mental health and promoted mental health and well-being for all children and young people living in Plymouth. The project also won an award at this year’s Royal Television Society Devon and Cornwall Centre Awards for best Non Broadcast production.

Bully Busters

A group of children from Yealmpstone Farm primary school identified the need to produce a pack of helpful information for children who are victims of Bullying and also the Bullies themselves. They have been visiting primary schools in the City to seek the views of other children. The success of this project resulted in the children receiving a Dianna award for their efforts.

The Bully Busters welcome other schools becoming involved, so if this is something that matters to you get in touch!
