Short Breaks and Holiday Inclusion Service

Our Short Breaks and Inclusion services give young people the opportunity to take part in fulfilling and fun activities on weekends and during school holidays. This also help carers with their own life-balance by providing breaks from their care responsibilities.

We provide services to help you excel! From learning computer skills to help you in the workplace, to fun activities with 1:1 support including outdoor pursuits. Take a look at what we offer.

Direct Access Short Breaks

Direct access short breaks are accessible to any young person aged between 8 to 18 with additional needs who have a formal diagnosis, an EHCP or attend a specialist provision.

Short breaks offer families additional support during school holidays as well as developing new skills and relationships for the young people. Activities are focused around outdoor and adventure activities.

Direct Access Short Breaks meet at Devonport Park Activity Centre on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays (During school holidays). Each session costs £15 per person.

Inclusion Service

Routeways are brokered by the local authority to allocate additional funding to support children with additional needs to access mainstream social and leisure activities.

Families who are not eligible for a funded package of support can access up to 10 days of 1:1 support per year to be used throughout the school holidays. Families are eligible if they meet the following criteria: receive DLA, have an EHCP, attend a specialist provision or have a formal diagnosis. Adventure Breaks (Referral Accessed)

Adventure Breaks provides short break activities for children and young people aged between 8 to 18 with complex additional needs.

Adventure activities are offered including moorland walking, rock climbing, canoeing, gorge walking, paddle boarding, orienteering, fire lighting and den building. The provision aims to encourage independence and develop life skills.

The Adventure Break groups meet at Devonport Park every Saturday and Thursday/ Fridays during school holidays, 10:30am-3:30pm. A referral is needed from the local authority as part of a funded support package.

Beckley Breaks
(Referral Accessed)

Beckly Breaks is a specialist short breaks provision for individuals with complex additional needs, learning disability, or physical disability.

Short breaks offer families additional support on Saturdays and during school holidays as well as developing new skills and relationships for the young people.

Open to ages 5-18, the session run from 10:30 to 15:30 on Saturdays during term time as well as Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays during school holidays.
